Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm

Richard is a great host. The place was easy to find, just follow the coordinates that Richard provides. The location of the campground is in a very beautiful place inside the forest. Everything was well organized. There were enough source of lights for night time, loved the old school hurricane lamps. There were chairs, portable charger, stove, and dish washing water supply. I highly recommend this place.

Richard has really thought of everything when it comes to his sites! Everything was well maintained and beautifully kept. We had the pleasure of meeting him and he is a great host & takes a lot of pride in his property. We would love to stay again if we’re ever in the area.

Camping at Jim’s site was a pure pleasure. The site was neatly prepared and clean, views - spectacular and whole place had this unique atmosphere of serenity. I must not forget about the hosts - smiling and friendly, always happy to help. We’re planning to visit the farm again!

Great little setup Julie has going. I really only needed a safe, affordable place to pitch my solo tent but it ended up raining a lot so I slept in my SUV. Regardless, the spot was perfect for what I needed. I could see it being fun for small families, too. Very quiet and peaceful. Excellent host. Highly recommend.

Had an amazing time staying here! The land is beautiful and serene, the entire time I heard birds singing and my pup and I enjoyed the spacious lawn and woods we got all to ourselves! Richard the host is super helpful and kind, when I was trying to blow up my air mattress with my paddle boarding pump he not only had a extra pump, but a portable charger! I was able to keep my mattress full and my phone charged! I felt so taken care of the entire time, and he gave fantastic recommendations about the area with his expert advice and experience! Made my solo camping trip run so smooth!

Jim’s farm is a beautiful and peaceful place to camp. Close to town and yet a world away. Lots of friendly animals and people. Especially Jim, he was very patient with our inquisitive 5 year old. Say hi to the ducks for me.

Weekend Trip to Royal Heart Hill

It was very quiet and peaceful and hosted great sunsets. You will need to bring your own water and be prepared to use the composting toilet, but its not terrible. We had enough power to run the microwave, all we needed. It was a great place for the price! We will use it again if its on our way. We walked to property trail, but it set my allergies off something terrible....grasses in bloom.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Retreat

June the host and her husband were very accommodating and super friendly. Their land is right next to a river and there was plenty of space for my tiny group of friends. There was a rule about no loud noises, which I completely respect. We did have a tiny speaker and were up pretty late around 11pm but there's enough space between the camp and the hosts home that none of us were bothered. Since we were the only campers during our stay she let us know it was okay if we didn't check out exactly at check out time, it felt nice not to be rushed out of the space. There were chairs, tables, an axe and a weber bbq she let us borrow. I would definitely recommend this spot.

We stayed at the Mountain View campsite. It’s a beautiful, grassy, large site with well kept amenities. Host is friendly, attentive, and informative. The site had a covered platform for your tent or hanging out, a private out house, elevated firepit area with stools, picnic table, benches, and garbage bin. The view of the grassy meadow and trees was delightful. Lots of birds, deer, wild turkeys. Very private and quiet. It’s a gorgeous part of Oregon and the camp served as our home base for our daytime adventures. It was perfect.

The road department put a sign up that makes our neighbors road look like it should be Crawfordsville Dr. NO GATE If you see a gate you are at the wrong driveway. Again NO GATE 5 Acers of woods, 1 Acer of field/grassland, and one are on the hill with gravel for up RV's. Property is only 0.35 miles from Calapooia river access (local secret spot). 1 mile to McKercher Park and additional river access. General store 0.75 miles away. Next to the historic Crawfordsville Covered Bridge. 8 miles from Brownsville, this town has been featured in multiple movies. 13.8 miles from Foster lake. At the bottom of the property there is a tree house, fire pit, and large grass field that could accommodate 20+ tents. Upper area is a rock parking area with RV hook ups. gas firepit, gas BBQ, and picknic table. I only rent to one group at a time. Rarely camping there when campers are there but father is on site (the grey house) to assist if needed.

Our property used to be part of a farm that is over a hundred years old. At one point there was a roadhouse at the corner by the road. Apparently that is where the name duck inn comes from. We have recently built a new home on one side of the property and are pleased to offer the meadow for your primitive camping enjoyment. We lived in town for many years and are excited to share our country location with guests. Learn more about this land: Only 38 minutes away from downtown Portland. Come take a break and relax for the night in this small getaway spot. Perfect space for van lifers and road trips needing a break from driving. Our place is only 10 min from shopping including an outlet mall. Historic Silverton is 20 min away. Silver Falls is about 30 min away and has great hiking trails. The Silverton reservoir is a small lake 20 min away and is good for swimming and paddle boats. Small evergreen trees surround the tent sites. For an RV you can just drive in as far as you are comfortable on the grassy field. It is a little difficult to turn a trailer around, but it can be done if you don't mind backing out etc.

GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

*Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*
